Life Insurance: Why It's Today's Problem
Every year, Life Happens and LIMRA come together to conduct their annual Insurance Barometer Study. It helps them get the "financial pulse" of consumers. This year's study reviewed the past 10 years of data on life insurance and related financial issues, giving us a point of view from January 2020, before COVID-19 hit.
It revealed areas where consumers are putting themselves at risk unnecessarily, and where we, as life insurance professionals need to do a better job at educating consumers on what's myth, and what's reality so that they can protect their families, their future's, and everything they're working so hard to build.
So, as part of our commitment to educate consumers on these powerhouse products, and how they can be leveraged to solve a variety of problems for them, we are going to be stepping up our efforts as part of "Life Insurance Awareness Month" (or LIAM) which kicks off in September. We will address:
The Insurance Ownership Gap
The Top Reasons for Owning Life Insurance
The Top Reasons Why People Have Put Off Not Owning Life Insurance (and How This Can Cost You Big Time!)
The Over-Reliance on Employer Benefits and How This Can Hurt You
Life Insurance 101: The Basics
Top Myths Out There About Life Insurance
. . . . and much more!
We will be demysifying life insurance products and explaining how they work in plain english, and clarifying truth from fiction. Life insurance is today's problem, and we'll talk about why. We need to drive down the number of people who don't have any life insurance because they have incorrect assumptions in place. If we've learned anything from the COVID-19 pandemic, it's that it is vital that consumers take control of their finances, and put plans in place for a more stable future, where they are in control, and do not have to depend on the government to bail them out. Your family deserves the best.
